Copper Matte Vase 3
This is a truly unique piece which is wheel thrown and then fired using the raku copper matte technique. This is a high risk firing process with no guarantees what colours or effects you’re going to get, or even if the piece is going to survive. It is very difficult to convey the shimmer of the colours on this vase in the photos. It is different from every angle, so if you fancy a change of look, then just rotate it.
It is mainly blues and purples with yellows, greens, copper and oranges thrown in for good measure, plus the black from the fire. A true rainbow piece and one you’ll keep studying to see something new in the surface. As this is a raku piece, it is not watertight and so it is purely for decoration or dried flower arrangements.
15cm tall and 14 cm at its widest point.
Do not put it in direct sunlight to retain the vibrant colours as long as possible.
