Large Raku Teardrop Earrings II
Glassy green and hints of copper cover the surface of these drop earrings, They are a fabulous statement piece and will bring some bling to your evening wear.
They were fired using the raku technique where they were heated up to 1000c and removed from the kiln whilst glowing red. They were then added to combustibles (wood shavings and paper), allowed to burn for a but and then covered to put them into a reduction atmosphere. This has led to the effect and the crackle in the glaze.
Hypo-allergenic fishhook fittings and 6 cm length in total and supplied in a lovely gift box.
