Whilst developing a rusty effect on ceramics for an exhibition at the Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum in 2024 I wondered what else I could use the effect on. Lamp bases seemed to be an obvious choice. The rust is real and generated from a special iron based product which is then rusted until I’m happy with the look and is then sealed to prevent further reaction.
The base is really versatile and can be paired with so many different shade colours and styles. I’ve paired it with several different 25 cm shades here to show you what it could look like.
The shades can be purchased as an add-on. Just choose from the drop-down menu if you’d like the lamp and shade together
Dimensions: 23 cm to top of the fitting (not inc. bulb) and the base is 12.5 cm across. It has a B22 lamp fitting and a switched chord, making turning it on and off really easy.
